Bridges and Dams on the River Godavari
Another large dam was built at Trimbakeshwar (maharastra). The dam is in the town of Gangapur, which literally means 'a town on a river'. Here this dam provides drinking water to the residents of Nashik and also supplies water to the thermal power station situated downstream at Eklahare. which is providing power to the people over there.
Another multipurpose project on the river Godavari named Sriram Sagar project on the borders of Adilabad and Nizamabad District. Which is in the Pochampad town. It irrigates four districts of northern Telangana and supplies power.
Another largest dam is Jayakwadi dam which is near paithan. Jayakwadi dam was built to address the problem of brought in Marathwada region and the problem of flooding along the bank of river.Two Canals (left and right) provide's the irrigation to the fertile lands up to Nanded. Jayakwadi dam has contributed to industrial development of Aurangabad Maharashtra. Asia's Largest Lift Irrigation project The Vishnupuri Prakalp has been constructed on the river at a distance of Five kilo meters from the city Nanded.

1. Havelock Bridge (Old Godavari Bridge:
This bridge started in 1876 and completed in 1897.It was constructed under the supervision of Granville Walton who had constructed the Dufferin Bridge over the Ganges, and Granville Mills, both British engineers. Spanning over 3 kilo meters in length, is linked the East Godavari and West Godavari districts. The bridge has been a vital link enabling trains to tun between chennai and Howrah. Trains continued over the bridge for a century until 1997, when train services over the bridge ware suspended after the construction of two additional bridges
2. Godavari Bridge (known as Asia's second longest toad-cum-rail bridge):
This Godavari bridge was constructed in 1964, Then it was inaugurated by the President of India Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed in 1974. When completed it was Asia's Second longest Road-cum-Rail bridge.
3. Godavari Arch Bridge:
This bridge built by the Hiudustan Construction Company, which was designed by Bureau BBR. Switzerland, and checked by Leonardt Andra and Partners, Germany. Construction on the bridge began in 1991 and lasted till 1997. It was commissioned for passenger traffic in March 1997 and became fully operational for running trains by the Indian Railways from 2003.
